Maryland starting QB C.J. Brown tears ACL, out for season, Terps in bind at position

Randy Edsall’s second year at Maryland is looking to be as bad or worse than his debut with his Alma Mater.  After a rash of defections from his sinking ship, a huge step backwards last year with the program going (2-10) and his mistreatment of players such as talented QB Danny O’Brien (who was so lacking talent according to Edsall that he transferred to Wisconsin where he’ll be the Badgers starting QB), the coach may not be long in College Park.

The news got worse today with the injury to projected starting QB C.J. Brown having torn his ACL ( http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/15/terps-starting-qb-done-for-the-year-with-torn-acl/).

Brown, a duel threat guy saw action last year extensively, tossing 7-TD passes and rushing for 5-more.  Now, the starting QB gig falls to a true Freshman Perry Hillis or a pair of other unproven commodities in JUCO transfer Ricky Schultz or Freshman Caleb Rowe.
